This is my first time ever posting on a site like this. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. Some water accidently got wasted on the computer. I removed the battery after discovering it and the hard drive as well. After allowing it to dry for some days and also putting a blow dryer to it, I put the battery back in and all the LED lights will come on but the screen will not. The fan comes on but turns back off immediately. The lights stay on but the battery LED remains orange. I know the battery is fully powered because I plugged it into another Dell. Can anyone help me please? Is my motherboard fried?

Was it running when it got wet?

Are you certain you got it dried?

I think you've done about everything you could have, not a promising prognosis. :wave

The computer was closed but it still has power running through it although it is closed. Do you know what is meant by the orange battery LED? I have been researching it on the internet but had no luck.

From what I can find if the battery is ok, and it is because you put it in another laptop, then this is an indication of a failure with the internal power supply.

With a volt meter you could take measurements of voltage at hard drive contacts and battery contacts, powering it up from the AC adaptor.

But this would only serve to confirm a fried power supply. Even if you could replace it, your MOBO may also be gone, and you wouldn't know until after you fixed that.

Wish I could be more optimistic. Maybe let it dry longer, like week, then try again.

you might want to remove the battery, then hold down the power button for at least 5 seconds. that might purge any extra power, and might reset the cmos/bios. then you can reattach the battery and try to turn it on again.
