Laptop GPU Replacement

Hi geeks,

My friend has a Dell Vostro 1510 and the graphics card/chip that came with it has gone bad. I see on Amazon, that a 8600M GT is available and compatible with that laptop, but I'm not sure if the card that came with the laptop originally can come out or how to attach the new one to the motherboard if we buy it.

Can you guys help me identify the graphics card on the laptop?
is it integrated or modular like the card on amazon suggests?

If you go to the Dell Support website and enter the Service Tag number there, the site will tell you exactly which graphics card was installed when the laptop was ordered. For instance, my Dell precision M70 had an nVidia Quadro FX Go 1400 discrete graphics card installed but, it could have also come with an ATI Radeon.
