laptop hardware

Hi , the laptop's dvd player wont reconize the dvd's, even an external usb dvd player will not reconize them. You can hear them running but still nothing. I've downloaded driver's but that's not it. Im going nut's over this!:confused Droplette sometimes my ppppp doesnt register Thank's

 

Are these retail DVDs or DVD-R media burned on a DVD burner? Do the disks work in any DVD player? If the same disks didn't work in the laptop's or external player, I would suggest the disks could the issue.

Hi Sam ,It's me .... the laptop problem woman. You had asked me if the dvd was the prob, well no dvd or cd will play. When I go into computer the dvd player is reconized but the dvd or cd is not. Thanx Kimberly

 

Sam was asking you if the DVD's work in a different computer, or a home DVD player if they're movies.

 

I've used my windows cd to see if that would at least start up but still nothing. I have even put dvd's and cd's that have worked in it before. Thanx Kimberly

What is the laptop make and model (HP, Dell, etc. and model number, usually on a sticker on the bottom of the machine)?

How old is the computer?

Are the DVDs movies/videos you bought? If so, can you play them in a DVD player (like one connected to a TV)?

 

Hi ...It's a compaq presario R4000... amd sempra 3200 . Im not sure how old it is, Im looking at it for a friend. PC I understand .....laptops ? Im thinking maybe wrong drivers are loaded. Could it have anything to do with the wrong sm buss controller? or ? Thanx Kimberly
