    Hi:
Laptops seem to be a new learning experience. This is an IBM R40 2722 with an XP Pro operating system and 500 megs RAM. It has 2 USB ports, which baffle me. These seem like one supports USB2, but not the other. I have put the printer on what appears to be USB1. When I look at a profile of the computer, it looks like it possesses 6 USB's, but I defy anyone to find more than 2! It's 6 of something or other!
Anyway, I had a Nexxtech 4-port USB hub attached to the USB2 port at the back of the computer. It didn't like a card reader fastened to one of the 4, and the computer wouldn't start - so I had to plug in the card reader (Centrios) after the computer got going. This bewildering computer informed me with a popup that I could imrove my ways and it seemed to want me to plug in the card reader directly to USB2 for faster speed. Not being the disagreeable sort, I unpluged the Hub and plugged the card reader into the computer. The computer then seemed not to correct my ways any more...and we appeared to make peace.
Now Burn'N Go Nitro doesn't come up and tells me that "The application failed to initialize properly (0X0000135)". The CDwriter/DVD tells me that
"D:\is not accessible. Incorrect function". It appears that I am not using the USB ports correctly.
Can anyone tell me how to get the CD burner operating properly again? I'd sure appreciate some rescuers. (The CD burner is not external.) Janet

Janet, if you can't get an answer here, may I suggest that you visit the IBM website.

There probably is a FAQ, or "Contact us" link where you can get some help.
There may be a Hardware or Technical support link there, as well.

As you say, laptops are a different beast. You can't simply open them up and try another card, or drive, or whatever.

Hope someone here (MG) drops in to help you. They usually do. Bazza
