Laptop is so slow, need help but not sure where to post?

Hi there!

My laptop is taking an age to boot up - its being annoyingly slow, its about 5 months old and is a dual core running vista (I was going to post the full spec when i do the whole post) and I have looked through the malware thread and dont think its a virus i have, just as a newb i'm not sure where I can post to get help
