It could potentially be a few things like a plugged heat sink and overheating, or possibly an early indication of hardware failure such as the hard drive.

How long have you owned this laptop? Can you install and post the information supplied by HDSentinel?

It would be helpful to know how many hours are on the drive, and it's start/stop count.

I had the same problem after the first update to Windows 10. These are some steps that I went through to solve the problem by Googling. The last set of suggestions, I believe solved it in my computer.

Disable Fast Startup. I fixed this issue with these steps:
    1. Go Control Panel
    2. Power Options
    3. Choose what the power buttons do
    4. Change settings that are currently unavailable
    5. Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"
    6. Save changes.
Also, go to advanced power settings -> Sleep -> Allow wake timers and disable it.

I suggest you to make change in the system settings and check it helps.
    1. Click on Search bar.
    2. Then type "System" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it
    3. Click on Advanced System Settings.
    4. Then click on Advanced tab.
    5. Click on Settings under Startup and Recovery.
    6. Uncheck mark on Automatically Restart and click on Ok.

Hi thanks for all the suggestions. As requested, I've installed the HD sentinel app and I've attached the file log. If you could let me know your thoughts about this, I can then look at the other suggestions etc if it's not a hard drive problem.

    Cheers

Don't know what your basic BIOS Set-up contains, but I would look in that for a couple of things. One, Boot from LAN should be disabled unless you have a specific reason to have it on. Also, Fast Boot perhaps can be disabled to see if that is contributing to the random reboots, if not you can turn on again.

The only other area that I can think of to look is the Tasks that are set up. Look at the Task Manager and go through the list. It may be set to start up in the wee hours for updates. This should be disabled as you can always go to the update section and update when you want to and are not going to use the computer for a while. So look through the Tasks and see if you can find any startup instructions to start at 3:00AM or such.

When I solve problems I usually write up a sheet and save it by (hopefully) a name I can relate to the problem and file it in a Computer Problems folder. Several times it has saved a lot of time to rediscover a solution.

    Good Luck

HDD appears to be in good shape. Have you run the notebook solely on AC power with the battery removed to see if the issue persists?
