I've got an older Dell laptop here running XP pro with a docking station. However, if I remove the laptop from the docking station the keyboard and mouse will not work. As well as when I restart or boot the computer. The Keyboard does not work, I have to disconnect it and reconnect it from the back ports.

    Any suggestions?

Are you removing the laptop from the docking station without turning off the computer??

If so...a general rule of thumb is....whenever you plug in or unplug anything other that an ehternet cable, or usb device...you have to power down the system...plug or unplug the device and then power back up!!!!

    Hope that helps!!
