Laptop Keyboard Not Working

Hello Fellow geeks,

This is my second post today just been having to fix a few computers and have come to a stand still on this laptop. So I reset the CMOS by taking the battery out of the motherboard awhile back and the mouse pad stopped working. I figured it wasn''t firmly in place because it wasn't being reco0ngized in Device Manager. So I recently went to fix it and got it to work but then the keyboard stopped working. I went in and checked it's connections its all firmly connected and the Device manager Detects it but it will not work. I have got too frustrated so I'm finally asking for help after two weeks of troubleshooting. This is the same laptop as in my previous post on the: BCD Error...

Check if resetting the BIOS to Default Settings might fix the problem.

 

If I am reading it right, it looks like that's the first thing he said he did.

I would connect an external keyboard and see if the works. If it does, then you know the problem is with the notebook and not the OS. You might want to recheck the internal wires to make sure none got pinched when you closed it up again.

 

Yes, this is the first thing I did for the troubleshooting process. I couldn't access the BIOS so I just removed the CMOS battery and put it back in. It worked after that.
