laptop keyboards

    I have a keyboard problem on my laptop .I have just fitted a new keyboard but some of the keys i push i.e letter u it gives me a number instead of letter as does on a couple of other keys also is this a mapping problem as i have never done this before .this is the second board i have used the first of ebay which i thought had a problem so i have bought a brand new one but i have the same problem.would be very gratefull of any help regarding this problem.

    is u #4, and i #5 (at least on mine it is)? you probably have # lock turned on (look at your keys closely)?? i have to hit a function key, and a certain key on my laptop to enable the # lock. - g/l, sos
