So I am having a problem getting sound to come over my TV from my laptop. I am using a HDMI cable, which gives me great video, however no sound.

I can go under my control panel and select sound, which gives me various sound options, one of which (when the HDMI cable is connected to the tv) is a digital output device with a TV for an icon. I can select this option and configure it to do sounds tests, which come over the TV speakers, but that is the only sound that will come over. No other sound is relayed to my TV.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Ah ha, finally figured it out, for some reason you have to set the device to default in order to make it work, each time it requires a manual override.

Took me a few weeks to figure this out, lol.

    Thanks anyways, I guess.
