laptop - Monitor question

    ive just purchased this and my laptop has a hdmi socket so ive purchased this monitor and a hdmi cable.

    All ill need is a hdmi cable to connect these correct?. to be truthfull im assuming it has a hdmi socket due to this .. Video Signal: Analog RGB, DVI, HDMI

    this will be my firsr time hooking pc / laptop to a tv ect so im going from what ive seen from youtube vids lol.

    Yes, all you need is an HDMI to HDMI cable. Keep in mind, though, that there's what is called "mini HDMI" connections as well, which require different connectors. The monitor you purchased has a regular HDMI connector... but make sure that your computer also has the regular HDMI connector (I haven't seen laptops with the mini HDMI connector, but I'm sure they're out there).

    If your computer has the regular HDMI connector (which I'm assuming it does), then you're all set! The monitor will have to be powered on with the HDMI cable connected for the computer to "see" it.
