laptop not boot

Hey all - Heres whats up - My laptop when booting goes to black green and tells me it was shut down incorrect or lighting etc. (no lightning) ask if i want to restart safe mode, normal start-up, etc. Tried them all, and when it restarts it comes back to that black screen asking same.. I have done a check on the system (F-11) and tells me all is fine, but cant get it to open beyond that black screen! Any help? thx :confused

 

What kind of Laptop is it? How long have you owned it? What OS are you using? What were you using your laptop for/doing on your laptop before you had this problem? Any recent hardware upgrades?

The more info you can give, the better chance there is to resolve this issue faster.

Also if you didn't disable System restore, you might be able to run Recover Console from your OS installation CD.

How long have you owned it? About 5 years

What OS are you using? W XP

What were you using your laptop for/doing on your laptop before you had this
problem? Bus program (not online) / email.

Any recent hardware upgrades? Not for a couple of weeks - (automatic windows security update )

Also if you didn't disable System restore - (?) dont know what that is . But I did not change anything

 

When booting your laptop do you have any errors on the screen? Like missing or corrupt system files?

If your problem was caused by a missing system file that should fix it without you having to lose any of your data on your hard drive.

If that doesn't fix the problem then the issue could be a virus or malware related.

To me it sounds like you have some corrupted system files, which could easily be restored.
Do you have a copy of your Windows Install CD?

 

zDawg32 : I do have a copy of the cd windows.
Do you recomend that I just insert it and let go and see what happens?

Igcis: No errors on screen. just black screen asking to scroll and chose which way to restart; safe mode - The las time it started - as normal - Etc...

 

[these are standard 1st attempt boot fixing procedures]
After it gets to the blue screen with options, go to r for recovery console.

then at the next prompt select 1 and press enter. then at the next prompt, Type Administrator and press enter twice.
Run fixboot
Run fixmbr
Run scandisk
If you get any prompts, select y for yes.
After that tell me what happens.

right, i left that out. i added that to my word file

 

it did not have; Run scandisk it did have chkdisk and I typed that instead, hopefully that was the sam. after runing the chkdisk it showed; found one or more errors on Volume.
Also writen was;
29254364 KB total disk space.
11979504 KB are available.

4096 bytes in each allocation unit.
7313591 total allocation units on disk.
2994876 allocation units available on disk.

I have not gone anyfurther, waiting from responce from you with the screen on at this point..

Let me know whats next thanks..
