laptop not conecting to internet

i have 3 laptops running and today 1 would not connect to the internet unless through a cable , the laptop does not pick up any wireless networks at all were usually it picked up 5 or 6 , anybody any ideas , thanks

 

Several possibilities -
1) Possibly the wireless was turned off by accident? Usually a Function key and another F key at top.
2) Check Device Manager for any ? or ! at the wireless adapter. You could right click and uninstall and reboot and the drivers would reload.
3) Update drivers for the adapter.
4) Any new software loaded? May have caused a conflict.

device manager is fine , drivers updates are fine and no software installed ,

tried pressing the FN key along with the f8 key as that has the wireless sign on it but still nothing , has to be a wireless issue as it connects to the internet with the the ethernet cable , any more ideas

 

Did you uninstall the adapter, reboot, reinstall and see if it connects?

If that does not work, let's get some info - Laptop make and model, operating system and service pack, all updated?, using Windows to connect or another application.
Also, if you could go to the command line and run ipconfig /all and post the results.

 

"Wireless Network Connection" is disabled , that was the problem , got it sorted now thanks for your help my friend :wave
