Laptop overheating

i currently have an acer aspire 5735, the laptop turns its self of after about 45min and is really hot underneath, i only bought the laptop in december and wonded why this probelm is happening, i have the laptop on a falt surface so the fan is not coverd and it still turns of. just wonded if any one has the same problem or how i can get rid of this problem

Do you hear the fan running really loud before the laptop shuts down?

Try running speedfan and post back with the temps from that: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

 

it makes like a swoosh noise if you get me, it does that then it goes quite then like 2mins later does it again then it will do it again etc then after about 45min of been on it just goes off all together

 

The swoosh is probably the fan.

Any luck with SpeedFan yet?

 

You might also want to get some 'canned' air and clean out the vents. Post up if you are unsure how to do that. I have an Acer 5735Z Folding on both cores 24/7, no problems. If it is under warranty, you might want to consider letting them fix it. I usually take mine apart and reapply the heatsink goop and stuff, but that would most likely void your warranty.

 

Thanks for the advise guys, i think i will send it back of to acer as it is still under warranty other wise i would start fiddling about with it.
