My Dell Dimension 6000 (had prior post of sound issues) all of a sudden powered down during use (total time was maybe 2 minutes), and now will only turn on for 5 seconds then shuts down. Before this all happened, I did attempt to tighten the screws on the bottom of the case (Some of my ports were loose), but it power up sucessfully after that befor this incident. I had also reset the RAM (two twin 3200's). Could this be because the Ram isn't set right?

There is a chance that this behavior is caused by the RAM not being installed correctly. Power down, remove the AC cord and the battery and reseat the RAM, making sure that they are in the slots all the way, and that they aren't in at an angle; the should be perfectly straight. Replace the RAM compartment cover, plug in the AC adapter and try to power up with the main battery still removed. If it turns on OK, let it boot normally, then shut it down normally. Then unplug the AC, put in the battery, plug the AC back in and try to power up.... let us know how it goes.
