If I'm using my laptop, literally on my lap, is it more wise to run it via the cable battery out? Or can I run it via the cable with the battery in the laptop?
In essence, would it have any effect on the battery life?
I'm assuming so, but wanted to make sure.
I prefer the convenience without a cable, but if it's better to do so without the battery (when I can), I will.

    Hi bocaj

I tend to run mine if on AC with battery out for the reason quoted below, and read this last year on how to prolong laptop battery life http://h20239.www2.hp.com/techcenter/battery/Battery_max.htm ( Ok its from HP/Compaq bit should suffice for all batteries )

    Just my preference
