Laptop Question

I have a Dell Inspiron 2600. When booting up It beeps continuously until the XP desktop comes on. When I click on an icon or the start button, it will blink and go right back to the desktop. Cannot open anything. I replaced the hard drive, the one that was in it was under warranty because I replaced it a year ago. I suspected the hard drive so I sent it into seagate and they sent me a new one but that was not the problem, still does it. Anyone have any knowledge about this or maybe had the same problem? Thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated.

sounds like a button is stuck on your keyboard

 

I dont Know if its your keyboard,
But, lot of dells have had problems with keyboards, a friend told me they, dell, were offering free service on several models that original warrenty had expired?
I had some problems with mine some, keys werent working, on ocassion a couple would stick.

My solution was to remove keyboard disconnect cable and clean with isopropyl alcohol I also cleaned the cable and connection on mobo too.
All my problems solved.

 

You guys Rock, I unplugged the keyboard and tried booting it up and Bam, no beeping, mouse functions and was able to click on various icons and start menu and all works fine. Now I have to find a new keyboard for It. Thanks a bunch, any ideas where to get a new keyboard? Laptop was bought 2nd hand so Dell will not assume any responsibility because I am not the original owner/purchaser.
