I have an old HP Pavilion dv5000 laptop that I'm prepping for my dad to use at work, but it only has 512MB (2x 256MB sticks) of RAM. I looked around for an upgrade and found this: https://www.memory-up.com/Memory/HPPavilionNotebooks3731.html

It seems less expensive that what I found on the egg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...E&N=2010170381 1309221120 1309121113&name=1GB

So, is this "Memory-Up.com" any good? I'm pretty sure that its not a scam, but I'm just interested in what brand of memory that they use.

(BTW, im looking to up the laptop to a total of 2GB of RAM, two 1GB sticks.)

    Thanks!

EDIT: OOPS, i picked the wrong laptop in the memory up site...

http://www.memory-up.com/Memory_Finders/memorySelector.aspx?modelid=2850 would be the correct RAM, (the laptop is DDR not DDR2) so i guess i would save money by buying from the egg (as always!!)

...boy, that one sure solved itself fast
