Laptop Restarts

Hello everyone,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 and it is randomly restarting while playing two specific games; America's Army 2 and Guild Wars. This is a recent event and has only started happening within the last month.

I have "Auto Restart" unchecked and still no BSOD. I have no "Errors" in the Event Viewer, occasionally a Dchp warning shows up in the viewer.

I run AVG Internet Security anti-virus program, Windows Firewall, Advanced System Care Pro, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I have no viral issues.

Two weeks ago, I decided to reformat my computer, in hoping that would repair the restarts.
I wiped drive, reinstalled XP Pro SP3, partitioned the HDD and installed the games into the partition, separate from other programs.


Still restarts randomly. Sometimes 3 hours into game and sometimes 20 minutes.

Not an overheating issue, CPU has yet to exceed 44C. GPU yet to exceed 46C. ACPI exceeds 60C at some points (Not sure what ACPI Temp is).

Tried running these games on absolutely the lowest settings possible, Audio and Video. No help.

I can be on computer for hours upon hours and no restarts. Only with listed games above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is aggravating.

Note: Purchased new Power Supply, thinking that was the issue...... Nope.
