I have a laptop that I am working on for someone. Its a Samsung 17", his daughter stepped on his laptop killing the screen. He ordered a new one and he tried to throw it in and its blurry. Even when it starts up and shows the splash screen or is in bios. I connected it to a external monitor and its crystal clear. I tried messing around with the ribbon and still blurry. Could it be a faulty screen? The model numbers are slightly different with the screen but everything seems exactly like the old screen at the same time. The inverter wouldn't have anything to do with it would it? Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

I don't know what the problem is but I can tell you a bad inverter typically results in a dim screen, not blurry. It could be a faulty screen but with different model numbers, it may be the wrong screen. I would contact the vendor as to me, it is either faulty or the wrong one and either way, they should correct it. Be sure to tell them the image is great on an external monitor because that indicates the computer and it's graphics solution are not the problem.
