I have a problem with my laptop screen (Toshiba Techra 8100). For a few weeks, the light has gone off while the harddrive and
everything is still on. But normally, after pressing the little "spike" that makes the screen go black when the lid is pushed down, it resumes the screen light. This morning, however, the screen is black and even if I push the "spike", nothing happens. Any help out there?

I figured out the problem. The FL Inverter board needs to be replaced. This is a verry common problem with certain Toshiba laptops, including mine --"Toshiba Techra 8100"--

Try and pressure Toshiba into fixing it free of charge, even if out of warranty, if it is a common problem. Or, at least, a reduced cost. Bazza
