Laptop Screen

I have a laptop with a screen that unless it is tilted in a particular postion it will not come on.
Is there something I can check or clean without risking any further damage

This sounds like a loose or broken cable or wire. Best bet would be to take to a service center.

 

I agree, trying to fix that sorta thing will..could make it worse...I know, I tried to fix my laptops keyboard and well...put it this way...now I use an external...And I'm also good at that stuff:O

More likely loose. The connection into the back of the LCD panel has probably just come away a little.

Most laptop LCD screens are generally held in place by the outer bezel. There are generally a number of screws holding the bezel in place which are covered by rubber caps. Remove screw covers, remove all screws and gently prise off the bezel. The lcd panel is usually held in place by a number of screws on a frame.

Depending on the make of laptop that you have, some manufacturers ie Dell have detailed manuals. If not google your manufacturer lcd removal and you will find what you seek.

It is not difficult at all to do.

The other problem that it could be is the inverter but I think that is unlikely.
