    DUNNO WHAT HAPPENED THERE

    ANYWAY..........

    I have a lap top, 2.3ghz ATI 9000 radeon
    1000ram

recently i have been having this problem:
The pc suddenly shutds down by itself, as if i am pressing the force shutdown button. I am not talking about the normal "windows is shuting down thing, but just BLACK SCREN, OFF , power oFF.
This does seem to happen when the laptop gets a little hot.
During a game for example the laptop will just switch off.
If I put it on ice...i can delay the shutdown.

    PLEASE PLEASE HELP

yea that will happen, my freind actully puts 2 books, "same size duh" on the 2 back corners to lift the back.I think about 600 pages on each small book.. and he can play guildwars for 12 hours.. SoF2 4ever.. just by that little trick. Mind you my laptop i have a coolin pad that goes into the USB, i wanna get the water coolin pad.. it doesn't use up a USB slot and it more angled up ,then just flat with like half an inch up ..

your laptop is shuttin down b/c your fan can't push out all that heat.. do not put that nasty slim on your battery that says it will help the over heat problem.... all you need to do is find a way to make your laptop fan work better.. like raiss, but for sure you need to dish out 30 for the really nice pad.. or 20 for mine.. but for the extra 10 would be nice

thanks for Ur reply, It almost definetly is a heat issue, although

I do wonder what is going because it didnt do that before.

Although it is only recently that I leave it on 24hrs to download stuff from emule....maybe laptops are not designed for 24/7 usage....
I may be pushing it I know.....

You're putting it on a hard surface right? If so, your fans might be dying, possibly worth getting it looked at.

As a rule, no, lappys arn't "designed" to be on hours on end, but during their testing period they will be on for at least 48 hours (most manufacturers anyway)
