    Hello guys,

I need your help, folks! Every time I go into sleep mode or hibernation and then wake up, I notice that my PC's performance is significantly slower.. despite even after a quick restarting as well. So for example, loading websites on my mozilla firefox take way more time to load up instead of near-instantaneous. Typing takes time to be written on the search box, also opening up my documents is kinda sluggish, but it opens.. gets the job done..but just slow. It's somewhat tolerable when I'm in no rush, but when I am, it's irritating and inconvenient.. Scrolling around to get to my media is kinda laggy. No other person is using much wifi either. We have a pretty good internet plan going. Thing is, only after I shut down and then boot up my PC, the speed on my laptop is at it's best. Everything is super smooth and quick. It's like a totally different PC I should say lol.

Anyway, if you guys wanted to know, the laptop I'm using has 8g of RAM on a Alienware m11xr2 laptop with Windows 7 ultimate service pack 1. Got my laptop since late 2011 and still running pretty strong. Mostly using it to surf the web, watching videos, and listen to music. Also play some (non-heavy graphics) games every now and then. Lately I've been having the PC go to sleep and hibernate frequently to save power and possibly the lifespan of the PC from what I heard.. (really can't afford to just go get another PC right now, doing my best to prolong the PC I have right now) then I started noticing the slow downs; so that's when it hit me that okay, I gotta figure this out and find a way to speed things up. I heard it eats up a lot of RAM or something? Can someone care to elaborate? I also just tried using a 16g patriot XT red flash drive today that is optimized and meant to work with windows readyboost and used it thinking it could help out a bit on the side.. but haven't felt a difference unfortunately when PC is slow. Anywho, so yeah, thankfully I figured out how to help speed things up and that's just simply do a complete shut down and clean boot up.. but I want to save power and preserve the PC though! That's the thing! How can I get my PC to run quicker and smooth after waking up from sleep/hibernation without slow downs? Is there a way another around it? I attempted going up to 16gb of RAM using the kingston RAM chips, but no good! Got BSOD and windows won't boot up! I eventually found out my m11xr2 model doesn't support 16gb... only r3 model! Bummer. Returned the ram chips. I also run malwarebytes, SUPERantispyware and avast (free versions) on a daily basis (about every week) to mop up anything malicious on my PC and send it down to quarantine or removed. Then I run CCleaner to clean everything up and once every blue moon I would clean and fix the registry; it actually helped clear up some annoying issues.. but I don't do it often, however when I do, I would back up prior just in case.. I done a defrag a couple months ago. I usually do a complete thorough defrag once every 4 months or so. I clean out the cache, cookies, history on mozilla. Uninstall useless programs. Turn off auto-startup applications. Even lowered the PC's resolution and visual effects. You name it, I'm pretty sure I've done it. Still slow after booting up from sleep/hibernate.. Maybe I missed something?

Another issue I've encountered unrelated to slowdowns is that I have to unplug my 3.5mm audio jack (that is already plugged in PC after booting up) and then plug it right back in so the PC would I guess register the audio jack and transmit the audio to speakers. It's not a huge deal or anything but it's kinda of a hassle to keep unplugging and plugging after a boot up/restart so I can hear audio on speakers. Another unrelated issue is the power options that's glitchy.. How? Okay so on one of my power plans, I have my PC's display to dim after 5 minutes and turn off after 10 minutes, right? It does that nicely after being idle.. but soon immediately after the display turns off, the display turns right back on and it has to start over to dim again and then turns off display, but this second time it actually stays off. Just some minor nagging issues I've noticed on my PC. Would be awesome if I get them fixed!!

Please let me know if you guys need any more info; I'd gladly share more details and etc.

    Thanks a lot folks!
