Laptop startup

Hi
Every time I reboot the XP, Windows attempts to install Drivers and gets stuck there. Only way forward is "Ctrl-Alt-Del" route.
How do I kick the habit:wave Could it be "Drive Cure" that was previously installed, but since removed?

Can you boot into safe mode and do a system restore to a date before the program was installed if feasible?

Not sure if I can restore:

DriveCure was installed and deleted a longtime ago.
I am not even sure it is the problem. This was purely a guess since it is Windows Installer that causes the problem on startup and the word "Scan" is in the message box.

Hi my friend , what other programmes do you installed in your machine ? Follow it :
Start - in Run menu type msconfig - press Ok - uncheck all boxes apart from antivirus press Apply - Ok - reboot your machine is suggested !! :wave

Drive Cure/Drivercure from Paretologic?! Should be renamed "Kill or Cure", it'd be more honest. I hope you didn't have to pay for it as well?
