laptop stopped working???

I shut the lid to my laptop last night putting it in standby mode. This morning I went to open it and it had shut itself off and now won't restart. The power light will come on for about 3 seconds and turn off. Could it just be the processor went out? the power pack light stays on so I know it's getting enough power, switched hard drives to make sure that wasn't the problem, help I am at a total loss as to what could be the problem!!

 

I would try removing everything from the laptop, RAM, wireless card, hard drives, battery. Remove the power cord from the laptop and then plug it back in. Then see if it will start. If it does start, it is probably one of those devices you removed that caused the problem. If it does not start, probably motherboard or processor. Process of elimination.
