P.S. If you don't mind this "piggybacked" tangent, I'm in such trouble because so much is transitioning to "cordless & wireless" whatchamacallit. So if anyone feels they can help, perhaps there's a way to PM some suggestions?
    (but not medical suggestions, please)

See, as an electrosensitive, I want to avoid wireless. Yep, it's not JUST eye issues i have, but the whole Kit & Kaboodle.
I still want to use my external 1990's Wired keyboard (LiteOn) and Dell corded scroll-mouse, and 1010-series HP laserjet printer, which are all fine for me.
I currently am on an old R52 thinkpad (32-bit, XP) which was compatible with all the aforesaid.

Do you know if there's any hope for me to find a more current 15" laptop, with Win7 or Win-10, and which is compatible with all those wired externals, and sorta shielded, a bit like the R52 or T42 thinkpads? Would the Panasonic Cf30 cut it? Or any others you can think of?

See, I'm not so up to date, with zero experience on any of the latest stuff. BTW, one of the stand-alone monitors which wasn't so overwhelming in the past, was the 15" BenQ. However, even that was useless, if not paired with low-emissions tower, such as the Fit-PC2. Best of all would have been Pixel-Qi with E-paper mode, but they never offered it in 15". Rather just tiny screens.

First of all HP have drivers for Vista - Now most Vista drivers will work with Windows 7, sometimes directly, but otherwise will usually work in compatibility mode. Windows 10 is very good with drivers, and , again should work the printer in compatibility mode, if it does not find a driver for W10.

The keyboard maay be the outsider as it is 27 years old-
Dell mouse - I have found they mostly worked on anything, but again it is a bit of try it and see , if not keyboard and mouse for use with a laptop can be very cheap.
Laptop 15",probably a refurb with Windows 7 might suit you. Windows 8,might fox you a little, if you are so used to XP.
Windows 10 , now sorted out bit more, could be easier for you to upgrade to, as it has reverted the start button more user friendly for many.
As to buying one to suit yourself, I would suggest looking in on pc stores to see what they have (Probably mostly Windows 10, now)- just to get a feel of them.
Personally, I would not advise you to buy new on, until you have tried one with Windows 7, or, Windows 10,, at least.
Lenova have some drivers for your present one for Windows 7........
