Laptop updates

I recently purchased a laptop to supplement my PC.

I manually check updates daily on the PC and install the updates.

I rarely use the laptop and today checked for updates and it said none available

I'm confused as to why, when I uploaded updates daily(more than 10) for the PC since last using the laptop.:confused

Are the desktop and laptop configured identically (ie. Same OS, same Apps)? Are updates automatic on the laptop but manual on the desktop?

 

So, you're saying you normally get more than 10 updates DAILY for your PC. Is that right? If so, I can't imagine why you're getting so many updates so often. Microsoft does not release updates daily; they normally release a set of updates at least once a month, more often if needed, but never anywhere near daily. So, where are all your PC updates coming from?

When did you buy your laptop? Did you get a batch of updates for it when you first used it? This is normal. When was the last time you got updates on the laptop?

 

No, I get one update daily for PC -definitions.
I have received 10 updates in total for PC in about two weeks.

 

I installed the OS and programs, etc from a backup image on PC, so the laptop is identical.

Both running Windows 7 Pro.

The laptop shows activated from laptop key.

 

I took another look at the laptop updates and the only ones that are missing are the daily defs ( which I search for on the PC, but forgot to do on the laptop).:-o

So all is good.

So far - no problems, other than my error in not realizing I hadn't checked for daily defs on laptop.
