Laptop Upgrade Options ? ATi X200M specs?

I have just bought an Gateway MX7118 laptop. The laptop is not state of the art by any means, but I had a few questions. I understand the concept of shared memory. However, I have a few questions the use of shared memory in a laptop.

The computer has an ATI X200M video card. I notice with laptops utilizing shared memory the verbage goes as follows: "Up To xxx amount of shared memory." Again, I understand the idea of shared memory - the video card borrows from system memory to operate. I just do not understand the "up to" statement. Does the card have integrated memory and then it borrows up to 64 megs of system memory? Or it exclusively uses system memory?

I have searched for reviews of such for this card and have not found too much. It seems impossible to find any specs for the card whatsoever. I breifly visited ATI's site and did not even see the card listed. It seems the card is either really new, really old, or just that scarce. So - what are the specs?

Can I upgrade the video on a "shared memory laptop?" I am not too concerned about the current or future performance of the computer. I purchased the laptop for word processing and light on the go gaming. My desktop is my gaming machine.

video memory in a laptop is in an onboard chip, and cannot be changed physically.
the video controller does 'borrow' memory from ram.
in the bios, one can usually change the amount to share, 8,16,32,64.
