I'm having a hell of a time finding info about this.

As far as I've been able to find out, my graphics card is integrated onto the motherboard of my laptop. I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade it.

I have an HP Pavillion DV1000(Special Edition). Is there graphics cards that can be inserted into a slot somewhere on my laptop or is it just impossible to upgrade my graphics? There's a slot on the right hand side that says Digital Media and under it, it says, SD-MS/Pro-MMC-SM-XD. I have no idea what any of that means. An expansion port. Don't know what that is used for either and a slot that has a controller for the lap top in it. That could be used for something else I imagine.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

answer is no to your question you are stuck with the GFX your laptop has built in unless you decide to buy a new laptop with better GFX.

as for the SD-MS/Pro-MMC-SM-XD ports they are for Digital Media cards for the likes of Digital Cameras, Media players, PDAs and some Mobile Phones these allow you to connect these items media cards without having to carry the cables around with you.

the Expansion port or PCMCIA card bus port can allow you to add other items such as Wireless adapters, extra Firewire ports or TV tuner cards.

In a word 'No':) your stuck with what you got,the only way to do it would be buy the mobo from the same model of laptop that has a slightly new graphics chip, the gains would also be unoticable considering you could damage something while your in there :)

Halo beat me to it,I'v typed it now so I'm gonna leave it here :)

    Thanks for the help, guys.

It's dissapointing to know that laptops are set up this way. =/ They should work on that.
