Hi. My laptop monitor is burned-out so I use an external monitor as my only viewing source (Fcn+F8 to use the secondary monitor). For some reason, the info on my external monitor is slowly stretching horizontally... now it's almost to the point that I can't even see my Start button on the left, or the system clock on the right! Any ideas what might be happening, or how to stop it?

    Thank you,
    Steve

Right click a blank space on the desktop and select properties. Click on the last tab: settings. Make sure the screen area is set for something like 1024 x 768 and not a setting that a wide screen monitor would use. If the setting is 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024, see if you can borrow another monitor to test. It might be that the external monitor needs a vertical adjustment.
