My daughters Toshiba laptop was changed to Japanese. We need to change it back to English. We are getting a Fast Ethernet Controller - Media test failure message. Since the BIOS is in Kanji, I have no way to see if it is a setting problem. It is a Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X S149 - not sure what info you need. It's running Windows XP Home. Please help.

If your BIOS is in Kanji, it is probably a BIOS setting, as a windows setting wouldn't have loaded before BIOS.
You have to get into your bios and possibly change one thing at a time until you find the right language.
Do you have any friends/neighbors that understand Kanji? That would be preferred so you don't thoroughly mess up the computer.

Who changed your daughter's laptop? Maybe they know what change they made?

    Hope this helps
