Laptop Will Not Wake Up From Sleep Mode??

i have a toshiba laptop running windows 7.
when I enter sleep mode, I cannot wake the machine up, by either the power button, or mouse or any key.
I have to hold power button, and machine boots up.
Will not wake up from sleep mode.

If Hybrid Sleep Mode is enabled, It is known to cause such problems. To disable it, Open Control Panel\ All Control Panel Items\ Power Options\ Edit Plan Settings. Click on Change advanced power settings to open the following box.You might have to do this in safe mode.Restart your computer and Keep pressing F8.Then scroll to the safe mode option.

FYI i never use sleep mode due to these problems.I only let the screen turn off after 15 minutes.

Unless this is a work computer.

 

how do you turn the screen off? not screen saver?? the thought is that sleep mode conserves energy usage, and the machine's temp would drop when not in use.. right?

 

I agree.

I even go as far as turning off the.Power Lid option.The screen will turn off after 15mins if you set it.
