laptop with no OS

my laptop...ascentia 900n...has no OS...and no cd-rom...just a floppy drive...is there anyway to get an OS installed?????? HELP also...could I use a zipdrive to install an OS...thanks for any help...

Yes- but you'll need a 2nd PC (laptop or desktop with a 2.5" to 3.5" hard drive adapter, and a CD drive, and the Windows CD of course). If you have access to a 2nd PC w/ a CD drive, and you don't mind removing your laptop hard drive, I can walk you thru it if needed......

I'm a bit of a duh...when it comes to this stuff...lol...what is a 3.5 adapter???...and thankyou very much...

Ebay has a few listings with Windows 3.1, NT 4.0 Server, and Windows 95 on Floppy disks. There are also Linux Operating Systems that will fit on floppy disks.

The adapter I mentioned will allow you to hook up your laptop's hard drive (you'll have to remove it from the PC) to a desktop PC. Laptop hard drives are 2.5 inches, desktop hard drives are 3.5 inches and their respective data connectors are different sizes, that's why we need the adapter. What OS are you trying to install?
