Laptop won't boot but fan sure works!

    Hey folks,
    I'm looking for help with a gateway laptop (600YGR) running XP and office 2000, pentium 4. It will not boot up but instead the fan instantly turns on and runs indefinately. The battery reads 100% and plugging it in makes no difference. I've tried every possible combo I could to see if something would make it boot up to no avail. The laptop is two years old. Thanks,
