Its a Tochiba P305D-S8900 Running Windows Vista pro home.

when it boots up it give a series of LOUD beeps (over 30) and I have to choose to boot into wondows vista. Im sure its an easy fix as I have had to tell another computer to boot directly into windows, but I can not for the life of me remember how I did it...

    thanks all
    Mary

The beeps are an audio code telling you whats wrong. Your computer manual should have a list of the beep patterns and what they mean.

I know that I need to tell the computer to boot into windows, I just dont remember where I go to tell it to. Ive been through the Bios.. everything seems fine there. I have already reinstalled windows again thinking that it was something with the way I reinstalled windows the first time. no change.

The first time I reinstalled windows is when this issue started.

    Hi,
Try taking out your Hard Drive and re-seating it, i think it may have worked itself loose. continuos beeping at start up indicates there is a problem with the Hard Drive.
try hitting esc on boot, it might load windows.

Take out one RAM stick. Boot it up. If it still beeps, put that stick back in and take out the other one.

A lot of Beep codes are in regards to the RAM. I would recommend checking with manufacturer for the exact reason and code.

I have already tried both of those things and there was no change...

You already checked with the manufacturer about the error code? Well...

can you be more specific about the beep code you are getting...i.e.. one beep 2sec gap 2 beeps etc.... count them and time the pauses in between.

do you have a copy of your OS, is it the original, as you say that the problem occured after you did a fresh install, the disc that you are using could be corrupted, is there any important files on the drive that you need to keep??,if there is then i would suggest trying to boot a puppy linux to retrieve those files and try another fresh install of windows.
