Laptop won't boot up

HI guys i really need your help...i have tried several things.
laptop is a gateway model M-6750

first thing i got was this....
Windows Error Recovery
Windows falled to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged ofr configured incorrectly. Startup repair can help diagnose and fix problem. If power was interuppted during startup choose start windows normaly
I pick the launch startup repair. laptop goes to a black screen

next i depressed F8 to go to safe mode safe mode went to
loaded:\windows\system32\config\system... and just stood there

so i decided to use the operating system disc from gateway had the laptop boot up from cd in the bios. inserted the disc and restart this was next
press any key to boot from CD or DVD then Windows is loading files. Instead of getting the install windows from vista i get the green floating bars after the bars goe from left to right i get a black screen then a few seconds later the pointers appears in the black screen.

Oh before i foget i also removed the memory and put them back
any help would be greatly appreciated

Power the laptop up, tap the key printed on screen for SETUP/BIOS, load defaults, save & exit, try OS disk out. Oh, you might have to set disk boot order in BIOS to:

1=DVD/CD
2=FLOPPY/HDD
3=HDD

 

HI akhilles.

I tried that already but still get the same thing at the end just a black screen. but by powering up again and tapping thet print screen button it gave me a windows boot manger screen where i did a memory test but after the test it just goes back to the black screen. Any more suggestion would be greatly appreciated
