We have a HP Pavillion DV5220 laptop
    It's running Windows XP
    We have a Westell 7500

The desktop connects perfectly, if we have an ethernet cable, the laptop connects perfectly. The laptop can connect to other WiFi spots just fine.

I changed the WPA password, changed it to WEP, even turned the security off just to see...the little monster won't connect.

It'll say connected when the little window comes up when it's communicating, but it'll stay Not Connected in the wireless set-up window.

When I changed to WEP, it would connect for a second then immediately disconnect.

When I go into the router, it says that the laptop is connected just fine.

Any ideas on how to get it to behave?

    Thanks in advance ;)

    Hi

What Service Pack is your Windows XP at?

In Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks or red X's and if so by what devices?

What I would try is to re-install the Wifi driver and reboot and try to connect again, the driver is HERE and HERE (depends on what wifi you have installed, be that Broadcom or Intel)

Also if that doesnt work then boot into Safe Mode , F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with networking and see if you can connect.
