Laptop wont recognise graphics card help please!!

Right heres the crack i bought a brand new HP G70 120EM its got a Nvidia GE9200 pure video HD Graphics card on board.

It came with vista pre-installed as do most but my mate gave me a copy of vista ultimate black edition which i installed it worked ok but was running really slow and takin up loads of hard drive space so...

In the end i ended up formatting my C drive and installing it from fresh which freed up 80gb of hard drive space and it started running like a dream after locating the relevant drivers for the system. Happy days!! Well sort of...

The problem is now it wont recognise i got an nvidia card! Ive tried installing the drivers anyway but that dont work it just doesn't see it at all.

Because i formatted the C drive i cant run the HP Recovery console so it wont run whats on the d drive recovery partition.

Right A: How do i get my laptop to recognise my graphics card?
Failing that how do i re-install vista from whats on the D partion when the vist black edition dont recognise it from boot up??

Hope to god someone can help

hi mate first off i dont think its really a good idea to run a copy of an os that you got off a mate...creating problems for yourself really
but thats not for me to worry about, can you not run an hp recovery straight from boot up by pressing f12 or similar (check your manual for which key)

some other thoughts..can you not explore the contents of your d drive and select the drivers from there?

obviously the graphic card is working as you would have no display, just using generic drivers

i personally had to fix a dell inspirion the other day, couldnt get it to recognise nvidia drivers. had to force install using a modified inf file

oddly enough i was just about to post saying i sorted it lol

I just happened to look through my c drive and stumbled accross an nvidia folder containg a setup file when i ran it from there it worked fine woohoo lol
