    My guess? They take two jar halves. Then they melt the glass together with the objects in between the halves. Same way they put 'ships' in a bottle.

    I knew a retired CPO that lived in San Diego years ago, that actually BUILT the ships inside bottles, using long forceps and swabs for the glue. It took him as long as 5 months to start and complete one. I agree with you though on your theory here, half jars...I`m just curious how he managed that without charring the things inside. Pretty damned hot I`d think.

    Well, its just one bead, but yeah, it would get very hot. Not sure how they would cope with that.

    Purists do put ships together inside the bottle. Talk about tedious!
