I have just received my boxed Set of "Tip of the Freberg".
4 x CD's and a video of the best of Stan Freberg (1951-1998).

Stan is one of the best comics in the USA dating back to the 50's.
I've been a long time fan although he is not widely known in OZ.

Includes 57 of his award winning commercials.

Had to wait nearly 4 weeks for it to arrive, from the USA.
That is what it said on Amazon.

When I picked it up yesterday it was postmarked Germany.
Not funny, seller and Amazon. Bazza

Gooogle links to Freberg, if you are interested.

Great set! One of the best comic brains, and groups, in old time radio.

I've got the Stan Freberg Show, which ran on radio for one season and never could get a sponsor (was just as everybody was bailing for TV), plus a whole bunch of his commercials, plus his "The United States Of America", a warped history series.

Enjoy it, OTR doesn't get any better than that. :)

Almost forgot. Last CD bought was "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw. About the only "country" album I have, but that one song grabbed me.

Only CD I've bought in the last several years, come to think of it, although I've got a ton of old ones.

You're right about your warped sense of humor ;) Got your fancy dress ready for tomorrow night G.T? :D

I'm into "Going through Hell" by Rodney Atkins (no relation) at the moment and would like the CD, though recently it's not been a case of going through, but stopping for a vacation :p You gotta laugh, huh :D

At 17 I thought the same as you. As you get older you broaden your horizons, though never quite as far as rap :p

LOL. Well, I DO have a fairly warped sense of humor, but I was serious about the song and album. Title song is really a good one; you should chase it down and listen if you've never heard it. Listen to all of it. Great song for someone with cancer. :)

May have to pass on tomorrow night. Still haven't recovered from last Thursday's chemo, didn't make it to work today, and unless I'm doing better tomorrow, I may be back at the doctors instead of at work tomorrow. Been a really tough and long "weekend".

I'd pictured something like this, but may have to pass. ;)

Sorry you are having a tough deal on the chemo Gary. They say the culmative affect is hard on the system. If you're up to it, you should still dress up for when the kiddies come trick 'n' treating at your door, even if you don't feel up to actually going out yourself :D

I probably have heard the Tim McGraw song and my car and office radio are permanently tuned into the country station, but can't say I've been paying attention to the lyrics. Will listen harder tomorrow :)

Or PM me your email addy and I'll send it to you. I don't think sending it to one friend will break the RIAA. ;)

Thanks G.T. Appreciate that as the country station never tells you what they are about to play, or have played, so it's a bit of a guessing game and I'm forever googling lyrics so I can find out what tracks I love so I can download on iTunes :)
