Launcher Has Stopped Working

Every program I try opening says "Launcher has stopped working". I can't download and run any anti virus nor malware programs. How screwed am I? Both Vista and Win 7 are messed up. I reinstalled Vista and am laboring through getting that straight, but I'd prefer to not reinstall Win 7.

 

Try (temporarily) creating a new profile and then log into that profile. Do you have the same error in the new profile?

 

The good news is that, I finally got AVG to work, it remains to be seen if the other programs will launch.

 

Still getting "netcheck.exe has stopped working".

 

Is this on the original profile or the new one?
Are you able to launch say notepad or calculator?

 

Have you tried launching these program's in Safe mode.If not i would recommend it,Be cause your Admin account could be compromised.And might need a full system scan.

And if it is to the point of no return than best thing is to reformat the drive and reinstall windows.Most of the time if a computer be comes compromised that badly.

 

Reluctantly, I choose to start from scratch. Suggestions on best program to completely wipe the HD?

 

By complete I mean the OS also.
