I have a Windows 2000 Professional problem. Using a Dell laptop with Outlook Express. At launch it freezes and task manager shows 100% CPU usage. Have run Stinger, Spybot, Adaware and Symantec Antivirus on the program and the whole system. Nothing comes up as wrong or buggy.

I am rather a top level user and totally lost. I am not DOS guy and don't know how to better diagnose the problem. Any clue on what I can do? HELP! Any tips you can shoot my way would be awesome. I am also online on AIM.

    Thanks!

find your INBOX.DBX file and rename it to INBOX .OLD.. then restart OE and see it still causes 100% CPU usage.

Thanks for the help guys! I found the culprit! It was a single e-mail message that was bogging the system down. I was able to load up Outlook and load new mail... now that offending e-mail is sitting, unread in the queue but I am unable to read it, delete it or touch it without Freezing OE. So I guess I'll just have to leave it there till I can figure out how to delete an e-mail without freezing the system. Oh well. Thanks anyways!

    sounds like a corrupted email..

could try renaming your inbox.dbx file to oldinbox.dbx.. opening OE and then importing all your information into your new mailbox from oldinbox.dbx. it might fix it.
