LCD display

I'm looking for an LCD display that will show me the internal temps as well as winamp information. do they make them? who makes the best one?

WINAMP? like the program?

 

yeah...i could have sworn i've seen somewhere a pc mod with on of those 5 1/4 bay lcd screens that had winamp information and could display system info (temps and fan rmp's and such). I know there are winamp plugins for lcd's but the one's i saw were serial and parallel port controlled.

As you said, it hooks to a serial port.

Honest question here...
you stated that you have seen the serial or parallel connected ones..
sounded like that isn't really what you are looking for...

how else could the LCD get the winamp info if not from one of the above connections...

is there another way?

 

USB, Bluetooth - use the force?
One of my Logitech friends says they were looking at a CDROM with a display that used software to contact a database via the web and display the song being played. No reason it could not have a couple of temp inputs as well. But that project was deemed not salable.
