I want a big fancy non-widescreen LCD for games. I see some of these with response times as low as 2ms, but it seems like the models with the lowest response times are from less well-known manufacturers.

Should I go straight for the lowest response time or do I also need to consider the manufacturer's reputation and consider quality issues like dead pixels?

Specifically, how good is LG? I sense that, in the past, LG has been a "budget" electronics manufacturer. Now, however, I see a lot of LG displays having the lowest response times available. Am I wrong? Am I right? Please set me straight.

im not a geek but. i have just bought an iiyama 22" wide 5 ms. and it is nice.

i think that what is importent. is that it is under 8ms. aperently the eye cant see enything under 8 ms. so 2 or 4 or 5ms dosent matter.

    but contrast does
the contrast on mine is 1000:1
the higher the better. meny is just about 700:1
