Lowest MS possible, go to newegg and look for viewsonic vx922, lowest possible ms in lcd history - so far :) 2ms, all ghosting is completely dead - read my review there.

anything above 2ms is no good for gaming.

What??? Every monitor is above 2ms except for yours. Anyway you can't tell the difference. And there's a lot of other factors that cause response delays, but you can't tell cos you don't notice.

Can't say how a 12 ms would play out but my 19" LCD has an 8ms response time and UT (my fav.) looks awesome when I'm playing as do my other games. I don't see any ghosting at all....as a matter of fact, the graphics look much better (sharper) then they did on my CRT which was pretty awesome.:)

There are plenty of 6 and 8 ms monitors that are fine for gaming.

Also, different companies use different measurements and methods, so it's hard comparing or setting a benchmark.

I read about that, but as I read it, all LCD mfg's switched in their method for determining LCD millisecond, thats why g2g and w2w is now used as measuring tables.

Well, I was hoping. But, my hopes got dashed. Looking for a good gaming LCD for resolution of 1600x1200 NATIVE. :)

I'll stick with CRT until this happens.

I hope someone can prove me wrong.

Your looking at 20" + then.

The few I have seen, are not that great, with games.

Though, I rarely play games, I'd like something that can handle them.

The best 20-21+ LCD that I've seen is the Dell, same as what Major Attitude recently bought.

It's supposed to be pretty good from what I've read.

Personally, I'd like something with whatever resolution you pick.

Doubt that will happen with LCD's, so until then it's CRT's for me.

Apart from the size, which doesn't bother me as I have a huge desk and room, I prefer CRT's anyway.

As far as this post is concerned, you can't judge an LCD solely by the ms rating, you really need to read a decent review or check it out yourself.

Manufacturers' don't all adopt the same standard and rating, and some low ms screens still exhibit ghosting and vice versa.

You would want one with tft technology ones without it seem to have ghosting troubles.

does a dvi port in back of monitor really make a difference?

Jetway AFAIK is a generic brand company, not sure if its any good. I wasn't aware they made LCDs, there are only 3-4 "major" LCD brands so maybe doing some research you can find out where that LCD screen comes from.

is a dvi connector much better than a regular vga? JUST realized this monitor I bought does not have a dvi connector in back

I doubt if you would notice the difference.

You'd also need a digital output from your video card to use it.

Only thing I'd be concerned about with that monitor is the pathetic dead pixel warranty.

Not really, they "usually" bring VGA -> DVI connector if they dont support VGA/DVI out.

If you call 8 dead pixels good.

Sorry, but I don't buy or support products which aren't of marketable quality.

Any monitor which doesn't have a NO dead pixel warranty isn't worth buying.

I'd have to agree. While I haven't seen them, I am sure a dead pixel would drive me absolutely nuts... I can't stand anything, however small obstructing the screen. Just a pet peeve, really....

Althought I agree, the only place the 0 dead pixel warrenty rolls is in Japan/China/Taiwan I believe, 8 dead pixel warrenty is standard in the US. Of course chances are always greater when buying genric/low end monitors vs higher end.

Samsung, BenQ and PolyView among others offer a no dead pixel warranty, at least here in Australia.

Some places it depends on which monitor you get. Different policies for different models - most expensive have best of course. Also sometimes rules for dead pixels like, 2 ok in center, 4 ok in left/right side. Some shops here refuse to sell brands with too strickt dead pixel policy. At least 1 shop have expanded on brand policy and offer 14 days zero dead pixel gurantee for SONY, LG, VIEWSONIC and SAMSUNG. Other brands they dont want to deal with, so they say. Messy, must check for each model. I know at least Samsung dont have general gurantee.
