If I want to be playing a lot of Battlefield2, as well as Vanguard when it comes out... what refresh rate should I am for to eliminate most ghosting? I was thinking stay within the 4 - 12ms range, but want to know what you guys think. The monitor will be used for twitch gaming and I'm gunna

I couldn't find any posts, so if this has been covered recently, I'm sorry~ =/

    Thanks :D

What you are looking for is more a speed specification than refresh rate http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/specs.htm Much depends on panel type, a good but not overpriced monitor will use TN panel. They are fast and cheap. The new Viewsonic VX924 has "3ms" but you can be sure that is "best case" or what a local review called it. They still said it was fastest monitor ever testet (reviewer very sensitive to ghosting) but dont trust those numbers too much. You can find good 12ms monitors which will give no ghosting and some crappy 8ms. I think most 19" are ok today, at least latest models - market is a mess so be sure you dont get some "oldie". Probably more critical with larger monitors, might need another year before you can say all are ok for fast moving games. Check out that site, Im not sure but all comes down to development and money ;) If you want excellent gaming but also excellent colour reproduction for all desktop work, and is perhaps looking at monitor 10 hours a day, prepare to pay up.
