Interested in peoples comments on using a LCD HDTV as a monitor. Tiger Direct has a 28 inch 1080 LCD HDTV on sale for $200 after rebate. Good move or does it not compare to a conventional LCD monitor? Has several types of inputs S-Video, composite, Y, PB, Pr whatever that is, HDMI, RF and VGA. I take it the VGA would be the same as the VGA on a monitor.

    A dual purpose sounds appealing.

    TIA.

Thanks. I'm not a gamer so that is good news for use as a monitor. I'd sure like to try one out before buying. Will have to shop around locally. I'm sure Tiger will have more deals if I miss this one.

If you do opt for a TV make sure it runs 1080P. mine runs 720P/1080I and it is fine for watching Films but it pixelates to much to use as a monitor.
