learning linux

i just got knoppix, and i am looking for a book that will teach me the basics of linux (i.e. using the console, stuff like that) and i cant seem to find anything.

 

offhand i don't know any books about knopix specificly.
there are of course TONS of books about linux.

if you have a college in your area many times they will offer "informal" classes
there is a good chance one will be on linux,

i took one and they shows us knopix and how to use it basicly.

I swear, I'm not giving up. I'm running Fedora Core 1. When 2 comes out "stable" (in April, maybe?) I'm reformatting (I'm on dial-up). And when debian sarge goes stable, its mine, too.

I'm not giving up on this linux, I'm actually learning some bash commands, getting around the directory tree, permisssions, extracting tarballs, the works.
Just dive in . This is much fun!
