Led hotkey keyboard

In the bottom row of the computer (sorry, very little computer language - not sure if this is what you would call the system tray???) there is a "button" that says LED HOTKEY KEYBOARD - I click on it and nothing happens, but when it shows up on start up, I can pretty much be guaranteed my computer is going to shut down unexpectedly, even crash. Does anybody know what this is, if it's necessary and how I get rid of it if not necessary???

I'm running Windows Vista - I use Google Chrome as a browser. I'm not sure what other information you would find useful to assist me, but if there is something else that you need to know, please feel free to ask....

Thank you for anything you can help me with ! (I've googled this and I'm not really finding any satisfactory answers, but I will continue to search further in the meantime)

    Hello TEAM,

I am moving your thread to Software since it does not sound like you are having malware issues.

What is the make and model of the keyboard?

I found this: LED hotkey keyboard is a file on Windows XP. The program has no visible window. ModLEDKey.exe is located in the Windows folder, but it is not a Windows core file.
I'm still looking for Vista info.

Well, I got the keyboard with the computer - the computer is a Gateway, but the keyboard doesn't have the make shown on it - only says Acer Inc. in small print above the bar code...the model is a KU-0883

Thank you for still looking !! if it is not a Windows core file, then does that mean I could uninstall the exe file??

I would not uninstall it. Check your startup entries (msconfig or CCleaner) and simply disable it from loading at startup.

It might be something that will show you an image onscreen when you turn cap lock or num lock on.
